Research active schools
Gateway Teaching School Alliance schools are research active and learning schools. All staff take their professional learning and development very seriously and aim to keep abreast of the latest research and thinking in educational practice in the UK and more widely.
Class teachers and leaders in our schools carry out classroom based research as part of their professional learning to make a difference for individual pupils and groups most at risk of underachieving. Many staff in our schools are also engaged in post graduate level study. At external dissemination events in 2015 and 2016 teachers shared poster presentations focused on Lesson Study and other classroom research and welcomed colleagues from our alliance partners in Enfield and Hertfordshire, the wider Enfield school community and UCL IOE Research Learning communities.
Schools in our partnership participated in Closing the Gap Numicon Training, Growth Mindsets and Lesson Study with positive impacts on teacher practice for some of our most vulnerable children.
